  13. One thing I havn't seen anybody mention about 3D Studio is its interface
  14. which allows stuff like procedural shaders and modelers to be easily
  15. incorporated into it.  There is a fairly large supply of third party add-ons
  16. which use this interface. For example, I have seen add-ons for 3D studio that
  17. will do things like particle systems (exploding objects with gravity,
  18. tornadoes, fireworks, etc), additional procedural material shaders, melting
  19. objects, enhanced morphing capabilites, snow and rain simulations, etc.
  20. Most of these add-ons are fairly inexpensive (at least the ones that I have
  21. seen) and do add a lot to the program's capabilities.

  23. I have no idea what capabilities Lightwave has in this area, this was just
  24. something that I really liked about 3D Studio.
